Yesterday (FEB 5, 2023) I was so jazzed to connect with an old friend of mine from back in the late 1990s…

Keith Francis was a marine during his youth and after I knew him as a friend ( gaming & drinking & heavy metal buddies) , we lost contact.

Turned out this was right around the GULF WAR( 2003) in IRAQ and he re-enlisted to the Air National Guard then was deployed to Iraq!! He told me about his year-long deployment where he was physically housed in the giant complex alongside Saddam Hussein and those other Iraqi leaders … he was part of the tactical chemical unit. WOW! I was stunned.

He went on to inform me that after his return & got work at the Bremerton Navy Base (he maintains the training program and personal fire-arms for the troops up here in the Northwest) … eventually he had a “SIDE JOB” as the MAYOR of a city in Washington state named Oakville (happens to be on the way between my home town of Vancouver, and current home in Ocean Shores) … I mean, I actually been through this place several times. I was astonished.

I always held Keith in high esteeem, but after this visit yesterday I am just super-proud to have a friend like him (again). It was a glorious day to rekindle that connection….

OH! And when he reminded/informed me of his love for amusement parks, roller coasters, and the like | I just couldn’t stop myself from being reminded – This person is my SOUL BROTHER!
